The Transportation Log can be accessed from the General menu option. The Transportation Log comprises of six key components: the Transportation Log search, the Tracking # header, the Transportation Record Add/Maintenance section, the Origin maintenance popup, the Transportation Record data grid, and the Assigned Units data grid.
- Transportaion Log Search - When first accessing the Transportation Log program from the General Menu you will see the list is defaulted to Open Tracking #'s. For a Tracking # to be considered Open there is at least one assigned unit that has not been updated with an Actual Delivery Date. The grid can be filtered by the Status of Open, Completed, or All.
- Tracking # Header - The Tracking # header contains the Origin/Destination information. An internal Truck # or a Hauler/Vendor can be assigned here as well. There is a section for comments specific to this Tracking #.
- Transportation Record Add/Maintenance section - You must be in Edit mode to see this section of the page. The middle section of the page is where the Transportation Record details will be added and maintained. To edit a Transporation record you can select a single record from the Assigned Units data grid or the Transportation Record list at the bottom of the page. When selected the middle section of the page will be populated with the Transportation Record details where it can then be updated or deleted.
- Origin maintenance popup - When a Transportation Record is created directly in the Transportation Log program the Origin is defaulted to At Dealership. To update this or to provide additional Customer information, after the Transporation record is created, select it from the Transportation Record list in the bottom right of the page. The Origin button will be enabled. Clicking the Origin button will open the Origin maintenance popup. Make any required updates and then click Update. This can also be accessed by selecting an Assigned Unit from the Assigned Units data grid in the bottom left of the page.
- Transportation Record data grid - This section is in the bottom right of the page when in Edit mode. All Transportation Records listed here have not been assigned to a Tracking # yet.
- Assigned Units data grid - This section is in the bottom left of the page when in Edit mode. All Transportation records listed here are assigned to the current Tracking # that is being Edited. Assigned Units can also be seen at the bottom of the page when in View mode.
