The below calculation is what is used to calculate the Minimum Days and Maximum Days of Supply on the Demand Tab in the Parts Window.
Calculation
Total Demand is calculated by adding the Demand from the past number of months, starting in previous month from the current date, that is indicated in the Months to Average Over field in the Parts Group Setup for the Parts Group of the Part
The Current Month Demand is added into the Total Demand calculation if the current day of the month is greater than the 9th day.
Once the Total Demand is calculated that value is used to calculate the Average Demand by taking the Total Demand divided by the Months to Average Over field from above. If the Day of the current month is greater than the 9th then the Average Demand calculation is the Total Demand divided by the Sum of the Months to Average Over field from above plus the value from the Current Day of the month divided by 30.
Once the Average Demand is calculated then the Average Demand is used to calculate the Minimum Days of Supply and Maximum Days of Supply by the following calculations
Minimum Days of Supply = Average Demand Divided by 30 then multiplied by the Minimum Days of Supply value from the Parts Group Setup on the Auto Order Tab
Maximum Days of Supply = Average Demand Divided by 30 then multiplied by the Maximum Days of Supply value from the Parts Group Setup on the Auto Order Tab
