How to Add a Van/Mechanic to Dispatch


The Personnel Setup window contains general information on employees including the option to choose if the employee is a mechanic or not.
These instructions will guide you on how to set up a mechanic that can use Softbase Mobile, using the Personnel Setup window as well as utilizing the Security Setup window.


Personnel Setup Window


1. Go into the "Administration" tab in the main menu.

2. You should see an option called "Personnel". click on that.

3. You should now be in the "Personnel Setup" window. From here, enter your required information. (i.e. Employee number, names, contact info, etc...).  It the Mechanic will be using Softbase Mobile then ensure to populate the Service Van with what you want the name to display on what you will dispatch to.  

4. In the "General" tab of this window, you will want to check the "Mechanic?" box to flag that employee as a mechanic.

5. Be sure to click the green "Update" button at the top.

Now that employee is set up as a mechanic.




Security Setup Window


Moving forward, make sure that the Service Van name in the personnel file matches the Dispatch Name in the Security window for that user.

1. Go back in the main menu, under the "Administration" tab, go to the option called "Security".

2. Now you should be In the Security Setup window. Input the required employee credentials at the top of the window.  Either enter the users Password to pull it up or select the Employee Number in the Employee # field using the drop down or magnifying glass to search for the user.  

3. From here, go to the "Internet" tab. You will see and check the checkbox called "Service Dispatch".

4. The tech needs to have his or her warehouse assigned as well that they will pull parts from.  

5. Click "Update" at the top.

Your mechanic should now be set up and can be used in Softbase Mobile as well.
