Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional security layer used to ensure that only authorized users can access their accounts. It requires users to provide two forms of verification when logging in.
In Softbase, the 2FA option on a user record works as follows:
- The system uses the email address associated with the user record to send 2FA codes or prompts.
- After entering the password, the system will prompt to verify user's identity.
- A security code will be sent to the email address on the user's record from security@softbasesystems.com
- The user has 120 seconds to enter the security code.
*The user can choose to have the browser remembered to reduce future prompts.
- Once the code is entered correctly, the user will be able to access the system.
** For Technician User Types the 2FA settings will work with the Softbase Mobile Service Application**
Note: If the email address on the user record is incorrect or inaccessible, the user may not receive the 2FA prompt. It’s important that the email is current and valid.
