Importing Physical Inventory Count

Modified on Mon, 11 Aug at 11:38 AM

Overview

The Softbase Physical Parts Inventory Process in Softbase allows a user to create a Physical Inventory ID to identify the parts they want to count and then import a CSV file of the Part Number and Count to update the count of the Parts that can be reviewed and updated as part of the Physical Parts Inventory Process.  This article will cover how this process works.

Steps

  1. On the Parts Window, choose the Inventory Count Button
  2. Create a Physical Inventory ID selecting the Warehouse and other parameters to select the Parts to count
    1. Ensure you use the Single Bin Entry Method
  3. Once a Physical Inventory ID has been created, a user can create a CSV file containing the Part Number and Quantity Count of all the Parts and counts they want to import.
    1. This CSV should only contain parts for a specific warehouse.
  4. Go to the Single Bin Entry Tab and choose the Warehouse you want the Import the parts for.
  5. Choose the Import Button
  6. Select where the csv file is saved on your local machine and choose OK.
  7. Once you have done that you will see the Count column in the Single Bin Entry Tab has been populated with the counts.
  8. From there you will print/review your variance reports, manually update any count of parts and ultimately choose to Post the Counts to the Parts Inventory when ready to update the Quantity on Hand of the part with the counts in the Physical Parts Inventory Process window.
