Requirements for installing Softbase Connect API on Softbase 3.0

Overview

This document covers the requirements needed to install the Softbase Connect API for Softbase 3.0 customers who self host the API.  

The Softbase Connect API is used when Technicians use the Softbase Service Mobile App or the Pay Junction Integration and using the Softbase 3.0 Business System.  

The Softbase Team can help install all requirements below if provided access to the server you choose to host the API on.  

Requirements

• Windows Server with Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 or above installed.  
• URL Rewrite

• Microsoft Visual C ++ Redistributables

• ASP.Net Core Web Hosting Bundle
  • https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-aspnetcore-10.0.2-windows-hosting-bundle-installer
• Server needs SQL Access to the Softbase 3.0 SQL Database
• API needs access to the Public Internet if Technicians are outside of the Local Area Network
  • Customer responsible for ensuring it is secured via Firewalls, Networks, etc...

Recommendations

• Installing this with an SSL Certificate if exposing to the public internet.  
  • Customer is responsible for provisioning an SSL Cert and installing it.
