Module: Global Search


Description

The Global search bar will be displayed at the top of the screen and can be accessed from almost any module of the system. It serves as a shortcut to specific information within the Account, Leads, Opportunities and Activities module.


Functional requirements

User Roles

  • Sales Manager, Owner, Marketing:

    • All AccountsLeadsOpportunities and Activities will be available by search, regardless of assigned user or no assigned user.

  • Sales representatives:

    • All Accounts will be available by search, regardless of assigned user or no assigned user.

    • Results will be based on the current user’s assigned data within the following modules: LeadsOpportunitiesActivities.

Business Logic

  • The user will be able to access and execute a search from the Global Search Bar from any module in the system.

  • The user will be able to search by: 

    • Account Name

    • Contact Name associated with Account

    • Opportunity Name (Assigned to current user)

    • Company Name (associated to Lead or Activity) (Assigned to current user)

  • The user will be required to only type 3 characters and the screen will start filtering the results. Pressing the ENTER key would not be required.

  • All the results displayed should have a hyperlink, from where the user can access to the detail of them (view mode) by clicking on them.

Columns/Grid

The user will be able to sort the results in ascending or descending order.

  • Results: should match the search made by Company name or Contact name. The following information can be displayed:

    • Company name of the Account, Lead or to which an Activity is related

    • Name of the opportunity

  • Module: displays the module that is related to the company name or opportunity name. There are 4 options: Accounts, Leads, Opportunities, Activities.

Fields

  • Filter: will allow the user to isolate the results based on the module selected. The following options should appear: All (to show all the results), Accounts, Leads, Opportunities and Activities.
