3.0 A check I received from a customer bounced, how do I show this in Softbase?

If you post a check from a customer that later gets returned due to NSF, you will want to correct this with a journal entry to place that balance back onto the customer account.

You will post a credit the bank account, then debit the AR account under the applicable invoice/customer to place it back into the customer’s account in AR. You can also add an NSF fee to the AR account with the journal too then as needed (debit AR, Credit revenue account) either under that same invoice number, or as a new invoice number.

Then you can post the new check when received through AR deposits again to apply the new amount/check once received since the balance is back on the AR account.
