1. Navigate to Accounting > AR Deposits
2. Click "Next Journal #"
3. Select Cash Account from the dropdown.
4. Enter Customer #.
5. Enter the customer's Check #.
6. Enter the amount of the partial payment you're receiving from the customer. For this example, we'll enter $2,000 as we're receiving a $2,000 payment on a $2,405 invoice.
7. Single-click on the invoice you're applying the partial payment towards.
8. In the Cash Entry Detail section, adjust the invoice amount to reflect the partial payment amount.
9. Click "Add"
10. Click "Post"
11. Click "Yes"
12. Once the partial payment is posted, you may click the Search button to re-generate the list of invoices for the selected customer to confirm that the invoice has been updated to reflect the reduced balance.
13. In our example, invoice 14000799 originally held a balance of $2,405. After applying the partial payment of $2,000, this invoice now holds a balance of $405.00.
